I love a fly piece of outerwear. I live in the Northeast, which means we have super cold winters and our sweater weather/jacket season lasts longer than other seasons. Having a bunch of nice outwear jackets, makes it easier to look cute in the winter out here.
Also, we don’t take off our jackets. They’re a part of the outfit.
My favorite kind of outwear jacket is anything that involves fur. Ideally a fax fur jacket, but a faux fur accent is nice too. Good quality faux fur is a great way to elevate your look, especially if you hook it up with fly accessories.
Trend Alert: Borg Fur
Borg fur (the kind of fur that you see on teddy coats) has been a huge trend this fall / winter. There have been a lot of winter coats featuring this material popping up in stores. We’re also seeing it pop up on accessories and shoes as well.
When I saw this borg fur aviator jacket online on Missguided, I had to have it. It was sold out for a long time, but I ordered it as soon as it came back (also they’re having a LIT Black Friday sale). I love how it’s not your typical faux leather aviator jacket, and that this one has more fur contrasting the leather.
It’s All About The Details
This bag from Zara is a spot-on match for the jacket. It’s been on my wishlist for a minute, and since it matches perfectly I figured it was a sign. Finding pieces that match in texture and color so exactly, really make it look like you put a lot of thought into your outfit. When you want to look pulled together with minimal effort, find pieces that have coordinating details. When you have those kinds of pieces, and enough basics in your closet, you can maximize your wardrobe.
This outfit might look like I put a lot of thought into it because all the details match. In reality, I just threw on a bodysuit and my new fave Jamie Jean’s from Topshop, with a cute jacket and matching boots. Btw, these jeans are currently on sale at TopShop. I suggest you jump on that, they’re fire for us big booty girls.
When I was shopping in Target, I came across these heeled hiking boots. What caught my eye was that they also have borg fur, matching my jacket and purse. They’re super comfortable, and they were a great deal retailing at $39.99. The laces are kind of fun too, it’s giving “cabin vacation weekend” no?
