When I saw this Janet Velvet Rope Graphic Tee at Target ($14.99!), I had to have it.
A few years ago, my sister and I bought tickets for Janet Jackson’s Unbreakable Tour. The tour was canceled/postponed and when they rescheduled it, we bought $30 nosebleed seats on Groupon. My sister loves to dance, and while dancing to pre-show music, Janet’s people spotted her. They upgraded us to front row center seats, and we were on the big screen all night.
Details On This Look
To style this graphic tee, I decided to play with the earth tones from the cover art. I opted for a monochromatic leather camel look and paired my leather trench and pleated skirt from Zara. A monochromatic outfit is an easy way to elevate any look, and something about camel feels so luxe.
Styling this outfit with my Janet Graphic Tee gives this look a fun and slightly edgy twist. It’s also a great conversation starter. I wanted to keep the rest of the look simple, so I grabbed my favorite gold mini purse and nude platform sandals.
My sandals and jacket are no longer available, but I will link similar options below.
To change it up, I could also keep most of this look, and switch out the skirt for jeans. Or switch out the leather trench, for a denim jacket. Both would be cute ways to break up this look and make it a bit more casual.
Personally, my aesthetic is bad and bougie. So no matter what I’m wearing, that’s the vibe I’m looking to give. To do this with a graphic tee, I always try to make sure that the rest of my look is decidedly less casual. Even if I’m styling a graphic tee with jeans, I’ll probably wear heels and cute accessories. If I want to be sexy, I’ll probably go with leather pants or a leather skirt.
Super sporty? Sweatpants and heels, or white sneakers. We love options.
