The Perfect Red Wedding Guest Dress

I attended a two-part wedding over the weekend, which meant two opportunities to wear a fabulous wedding guest dress. The traditional Nigerian wedding was first, and I wore Aso Ebi (I will share more about this soon).

The second was the “white wedding” aka the traditional American wedding. I had looked around for a dress and realized I already had the perfect outfit in my closet. My $53 red sequinned dress with a high slit that I purchased from Fashion Nova. If you follow me on Instagram, you recall that I also bought it in blue (and wore that one for my 30th birthday photos). This one from Amazon is similar in style, however, it is shorter.

Fashion Nova always comes through when I need a luxe evening look. This sequinned dress fits really well, and it has a bodysuit closure underneath. This helps prevent wardrobe malfunctions, so I felt safe moving and grooving with the slit, lol.

I knew I wanted to wear my hair up, so I went with this 360 wig by Outre in the style Maximina. I wore my $128 Tom Ford Gold Crystal Heel dupes that I got on Amazon to finish the look. They also come in silver.

Finally, I went with gold hoops, a gold tennis bracelet (TJMaxx is the plug!), and my 26mm Louis Vuitton Toiletry Pouch. I kept my makeup look simple, and did nude soft glam with winged liner. I wore my Fenty Stunna Lip Paint in “Uncensored” and it’s a great matte universal red (looks good on every skin tone) lipstick. It lasted all night (including dinner), and I never had to reapply. I love their formula because it doesn’t transfer. The smell of it (in the packaging) does change though after you start using it.
