Small Bedroom Decor Ideas: Easy Ways To Maximize Your Space!
I recently redecorated my small bedroom to create more storage space while making it feel fabulous. I wanted to be really intentional with my small bedroom decor ideas so I didn’t eat up all my space. Amazon and IKEA (like my $64 18″ Platform Bed) have a lot of great affordable furniture that was perfect for maximizing my space on a budget. Here’s the rundown of what I got!

My Bed
18″ Amazon Platform Bed
I ordered this twin-size platform bed on Amazon for $64, and it’s one of my best purchases of 2022. I was able to put it together in 20 minutes. The platform bed comes in different heights and sizes, and I went with the twin size so I could have more floor space in my room. I opted for the 18″ platform bed because it gives you 16″ of storage space underneath, which is perfect for me. I was able to store so much stuff underneath neatly and then got a bedskirt to help conceal everything.
My Mattress
I also got a twin-size mattress, specifically the Beautyrest Harmony Opal Sands Medium Pillowtop Mattress. It’s a happy medium between a firm and plush mattress. It’s so comfortable that I fall asleep whenever I lie down at night.
Bedspread and Bedsheets
I wanted to find some affordable sheets that also felt luxurious. I remember seeing Porsha (most notably of Real Housewives of Atlanta) has a bedsheet line called “Pampered by Porsha.” Conveniently it’s sold on Amazon, so I got a set in two different colors. They feel buttery soft, are of great quality and wash well. However, I recommend inspecting them for defects when you receive them (I had to send one of the colors back). Finally, I got some satin pillowcases to match the sheets.
My bedspread is a velvet throw I got on sale from West Elm. I got it in a beautiful rich gold color that adds a lot of dimension to my room. However, I wanted it to be oversized and extra, so I got it in the King Size.

I’ve always wanted a neon sign and flower wall situation, and I got a custom neon sign made on Amazon for $100. Then, I bought pink flower panels and used command hooks to set up my flower wall. Check out my TikTok below to see how it all came together.
IKEA Hovet Mirror
I’ve always wanted a great full-sized mirror, but with a small bedroom, I don’t have much space to play with. So I got my hands on the IKEA Hovet Mirror (Retail $150), which fits perfectly behind my door! This helps me save floor space, and still be able to include my other small bedroom decor ideas.
How I Doubled My Clothing Storage Space
The IKEA MALM Dressers are excellent if you need to create a lot of storage space but still want a sleek look. I got the six-drawer dresser, which helped me reclaim SO MUCH space in my closet. It can be challenging to put together, so I recommend watching a tutorial as you go along (instead of relying on the IKEA instructions). I will say that I noticed some issues with the six-draw dresser, and a piece was missing from the matching two-drawer nightstand I ordered. IKEA customer service was great about addressing this.
