Amor Fati & Yummy Hair Extensions Cambodian Hair Review
I want to have more fun with my hair this year, so I decided to get a sew in. I did some research (i.e.: searched on TikTok LOL) to find some good quality affordable bundles for my hair appointment. For this install, I decided to try some hair from Amor Fati Hair and Yummy Hair Extensions.
Quick Details On My Sew In
My stylist did a traditional sew-in with faux highlights, and leave out. In total, we used about 3 1/2 bundles of 22″ Cambodian Hair. For reference, I am natural and have 4B/4A hair.
Check out my YouTube review below for more details on the hair I got installed!
Amor Fati Cambodian Hair Details
I got three bundles of 22″ Cambodian hair from Amor Fati for my sew in. I chose this texture because it’s supposed to closely mimic the texture of straightened African American hair. This is important since I got a traditional sew-in with leave out. According to the site, this hair should last 1.5 years if properly cared for.
The hair arrived pre-washed, though I did wash it again (because I was gon’ do it anyways chile lol). I was pleased to see that the hair felt soft, didn’t smell, and didn’t shed or tangle when I washed it. I purchased all the hair in the same lengths, to ensure that I have a full look once the hair is layered.
Yummy Hair Extensions 613 Raw Cambodian Wavy Hair Details
I’ve heard a lot of great things about the hair from Yummy Hair Extensions, but chile, it’s kind of expensive. From what I’ve seen in reviews though, it’s worth the investment as it behaves well and lasts for quite a while. Thankfully they have sales on a regular basis, and I was able to catch their black Friday sale.
I got one bundle of their 22″ 613 Raw Cambodian Wavy hair for the faux highlights portion of my sew in. I chose this texture so that it’ll match and blend with my Amor Fati hair, and I love that it’s pre-lightened so I did not have to bleach it myself.
What I Used To Dye The Hair
The 613 hair from Yummy Hair Extensions also impressed me as it was soft, and had minimal shedding when I washed it and dyed half of it strawberry blonde. I mixed Adore Honey Brown Hair Dye and KISS Tintation Hair Dye in “Rose Gold.” Check out my tutorial here to see how I dyed the hair using the watercolor method.
What I Use To Wash The Hair
I used the Rich Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner by Tresemmé to wash all of the hair. Yummy Hair Extensions recommended this on their hair care card, and it worked quite well. I got a travel size version of the conditioner for less than $2 at Target, as I plan to have my maintenance done at the salon. They’re also available on Amazon, at Walmart, etc.
If you’re looking for a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner for your wigs and extensions, definitely give these a try. The hair felt soft, smooth, and smelled great after.
How To Prevent Shedding
To help prevent shedding once I cut the 613 weft from Yummy Hair Extenions, I sealed it using Fray Check. I show how I did this in my tutorial on how I dyed the hair. Since I knew my stylist would be cutting those wefts more to do my faux highlights, I decided to go back and seal the entire weft from this bundle.
I purchased the Fray Check that I used for less than $5 at Hobby Lobby. It’s double the price on Amazon, so I recommend looking in the fabric section at your local craft store (or Walmart, etc.).
