I’m obsessed with faux fur.
There’s just something about a nice faux fur jacket that feels super fabulous, and it’s a great way to make any outfit look a lil more bad and bougie. I’ve been getting some great deals on faux furs this year (fun fact: the most I’ve ever spent on a faux fur is $45), and I’ve been putting them to WERK now that it’s wintertime here in the northeast.
The fabric is the most important thing to consider, when it comes to selecting a bougie looking faux fur. You want it to be made out of fabric that looks plush and luxurious, fringey and fun, or sleek and glamourous. You don’t want one made out of the cheaper and dusty looking material, because then that’s just how it’ll look on: Cheap and Dusty.
One of my favorites is this large fiery orange faux fur jacket from H&M. I call this my Lil Kim coat. It makes me wanna spit bars. For a more casual look, I’d pair this outfit with brown riding boots or cute flats. Honestly, a faux fur will dress up anything. You can throw on a t shirt, jeans, whatever shoes, with a fur, and cute bag and look expen$ive.

I had been eying this black fringe faux fur for a moment, but I didn’t want to make a move on it until it went on sale (thankfully there was one left in my size when it did). I thought it would be fun to pair this with these super flared pants, to give my look a slightly vintage feel.

Being the Beyonce of the family can be very exhausting, especially during the holidays. I kept it relatively simple this Christmas, by pairing one of my favorite faux furs with this wine snap front dress. I love this dress because it’s super stretchy, hugs alllllll the curves, and it’s made out of good quality fabric. Also, the snaps in the middle of the dress aren’t real. Only like the first and last 3 snaps actually open and close, so that you can avoid a wardrobe malfunction.

I have a couple other faux furs that I’m excited to style, so keep an eye out for them in future OOTD’s.
