When I first started wearing lace front wigs, I would always use wig glue. The only thing is I felt like I needed to take breaks with wig glue, and wouldn’t keep my wigs on for more than 5 days at a time with it (I broke out after keeping my wig on for longer than that when I tried Ghost Bond. I later had much better experiences with Bold Hold, but still wanted to get away from glue when I can). If I wasn’t using wig glue, I did the Got2BGlued method. The only thing with Got2BGlued is that it can be messy, it can take a while, and it can go left quickly. On a few occasions, I recall the gel turning white and being visible through my lace (meaning I had to start over again).
The fastest way to apply your lace front wig without glue
A few months back the hair gurus on YouTube put me on to the TGI Bed Head Hard Head Hairspray (Retail $20.00, Ulta), and I haven’t looked back since. What I love most about this spray is that applying my lace front wigs is now a less than 10-minute process from start to finish. I seriously could have used this that time I had to apply my wig in the public bathroom of a hotel because my room wasn’t ready yet, and the event I was attending started in 2 hours.
I spray the hairspray near my hairline, apply my wig, blow dry it on high, add a bit more spray, blowdry, and I’m done. That’s it. As long as I follow up with that second spray, I usually don’t have any issues with my wig lifting. However, in this summer heat, I wouldn’t suggest this as the go-to on a hot 90-degree day in the sun. Once the sun starts beating down on me, and I sweat, it starts to lift. So if you’re going to the beach, this might not be your best option. For a regular air-conditioned day though? This is it sis, the fastest and easiest way that I’ve found to securely apply my lace front wig without glue.
