I ain’t even gon’ hold you, ya girl used to be a lash snob.
If it wasn’t Iconic, Queen B, Honey B, Miami, etc. I wasn’t trying to hear you. Until one day when I was binge-watching makeup tutorials, one of my fave beauty influencers was talking about some lashes she bought on eBay (a pack of 5, for 0.99 and they were cute!). Intrigued, I bought a bunch, and while they were super cute (and I bought tons more, and wore them in my old makeup tutorials on YouTube) they just didn’t hit for me like the lashes I was used to.
Then makeup twitter started talking about the lashes on Ali Express. I rolled my eyes, thinking it was just people overhyping the same kind of lashes that I had bought on eBay. Boy was I wrong.
Are Ali Express lashes good? Sis, if you get them from the right seller they’re FIRE.
I came across the seller VisoFree Official on Ali Express, and I haven’t looked back since. For at least the past year, I’ve only worn their lashes. They make my absolute favorite lashes ever, which are #1 on my list: The style D22 (which I’m wearing in the picture above, the tutorial below, and just about anytime you see me with lashes on). If you love a full, fluffy, wispy lash then these are the pair for you sis. Also, if you like Queen B by Koko Lashes, then you’ll love D22.
Did I mention that they’re $2.15 a pair?
While the lashes are inexpensive, they certainly aren’t “cheap” in quality. I’m able to get quite a few wears (I definitely average around 10 applications per pair) out of them before I toss them and open up a new pair.
I guarantee you that if you look at any of my makeup looks over the past year, that there’s a 95% chance that’s what I’m wearing.
If I’m not wearing D22, it’s definitely from VisoFree Official. When I buy, I buy in BULK (I have 15 pairs sitting in my cart as I type). Not only because I like to have them on hand, but also because shipping with Ali Express can take forever (weeks to almost 1-2 months depending on what you get).
Here are a few of my other must-have lash styles from Ali Express, and the sort of makeup looks that I pair them with:
2. E11, $2.49 USD
These lashes are show-stoppers. They’re the kind of lashes that have gotten me stopped outside Chick-Fil-A (Spicy chicken sandwich in hand) to ask me where I get my lashes done. They have a nice curl to them, and I feel like they give my eyes a really open and doll-like look.
3. F41, $2.55 USD
These lashes are clustered, and are my favorite for a smokey eye look
4. D103, $2.55 USD.
These are my go-to lashes if I’m doing a winged liner look. These are also really flattering on almond-shaped eyes. If you’re an Iconic kind of girl, these are right up your alley.
5. A12, $2.25 USD.
These are my “no-makeup” makeup lashes. They’re just long and wispy enough to add a bit of drama, but not so dramatic as to where it looks weird if I wear them without eyeshadow (or at least just a crease color for definition) and eyeliner. I like to pop these on when I’m doing a quick makeup (read: less than 30 minute) makeup look, and just want to make my eyes pop a bit more. These are the last minute date-night plans, and the “let me throw on some makeup for this zoom meeting” lashes. Simple, but effective!
Have you ever purchased lashes from Ali Express? What style is your fave? Let me know in the comments!
Stylishly Yours,
Theresa Seyi
