If you’re looking for a thoughtful and creative gift idea for Valentine’s Day, try making your own gift basket. It’s a great way to put together a gift that shows your person you thought about the things they love. Personalized gift baskets can be really affordable if you focus on using candy as “stuffing” and include miniature sizes of more luxe gifts. Check out the end of this post for a tutorial!
How To Make A Valentine’s Day Gift Basket
Pick A Theme
Picking a theme to center your gift basket around is an easy way to tie everything together. Do they like makeup? Lashes? Haircare? Whatever it is, if you have a theme, you can include little gifts that reflect that. If you’re not sure what to get, self-care gifts and candy are a foolproof go-to. Who doesn’t like to relax and eat some chocolate?
Gift Wrapping Supplies
Getting some festive gift wrapping supplies is what gives your gift basket the Valentine’s Day vibes. I was shopping in Target, and discovered that they have these large heart-shaped boxes for $5! I picked one up in red for my basket.
They also have smaller heart shaped boxes for $3-4.
Adding some gift wrapping inside the box, like heart print tissue paper, makes everything look more festive. I used tissue paper and “gift shredding” in red to stuff the box under the gifts.
Self Care Gift Ideas
Self-care gifts like a face mask and exfoliating gloves (my secret to super soft skin) are great things to include in your gift basket. You could also add a candle to help them set the mood for some self-care.
Candy Gift Ideas
Sweet treats are my favorite thing about Valentine’s Day. You can include some of their favorite candies (Valentine’s Day editions!), and I added a bottle of sparkling grape juice too. Sparkling Rose, anyone?
Other Ideas for your Valentine’s Day Gift Basket
Miniature sizes of luxe gifts (like perfume) are a great addition to your Valentine’s Day Gift Basket. One of my favorite sweet perfumes is Vanilla by Kayali. They recently released mini travel-sized bottles for $25 at Sephora, and I included one in my gift basket as well. Not only are travel-size versions affordable, but they add an unexpected fabulous touch to your basket.
You could also add other things like eyeshadow brushes or a gift card to their favorite restaurant. The goal is to create a gift that is festive and thoughtful.
