I’ve been working on building my perfume collection this year and finding sweet perfumes that I like. I’ve discovered that vanilla is a common note in sweet perfumes that I’m attracted to. Some of them smell like candy, and some are more floral with a hint of sweetness.
In no particular order, here are some of my favorite sweet perfumes (also, these make great gifts if you’re still doing your holiday shopping!):
Sweet Like candy
1) Love Don’t Be Shy by Killian
I finally got my hands on the travel size version of Love Don’t Be Shy ($48 at Sephora, and the most affordable size), and I was so excited to try it out. It’s been rumored that this is the perfume that Rihanna wears, so I had to try it out.
Love Don’t Be Shy is sweet, sophisticated, and alluring. It smells like an expensive citrusy dessert. When I wear it, I picture myself eating lemon meringue in a bougie cafe in France. Thinking about splurging on it as a gift? Check out the Love Don’t Be Shy holiday gift set.
2) Pink Sugar by Aquolina
Pink Sugar is one of my most complimented perfumes. It smells like I’ve been in a bakery all day, while they baked their best desserts. It also has slightly citrusy notes and is similar in vibe to Love, Don’t Be Shy. Pink Sugar is a lot more affordable, and I always order it on Groupon or in TJMaxx.
With notes of cotton candy, strawberry, and vanilla this is a scent that’s sweet like candy. Pink Sugar is a playful, flirtatious, and sexy scent that’s always a hit on date night.
Sweet and Sophisticated
3) Kayali Vanilla |28
I recently picked up a fragrance rollerball duo by Kayali, so that I could try Vanilla and Musk and chileeee I. Am. In Love. For $28 it’s a great way to get to try both the Vanilla and Musk perfumes, and you can layer them together.
Vanilla by Kayali is described as a warm and sweet gourmand scent. It has notes of Vanilla Orchid, Amber Woods, and Tonka Absolute. It smells sweet (in a non-overwhelming way), yet sophisticated. If you like the Vanilla Bean Noel candle from Bath & Body Works, you’ll like this.
4) Kayali Musk |12
Musk by Kayali is a head-turner. It smells sweet and bougie, like the lavish and luxurious woman I aspire to be. It’s about to be my new signature scent.
With notes of jasmine, sandlewood, musks, it’s described as a powdery floral. If you want an affordable option to try both of these fragrances by Kayali, try the rollerball duo or the discovery set which contains all 4 of the Kayali perfumes.
Just a Hint of Sweetness
5) Velvet Orchid by Tom Ford
Velvet Orchid By Tom Ford is a subtly sweet, and spicy scent. It’s mysterious, alluring, and powerful. I love that it lasts all day long, and it’s a rich and layered fragrance.
Velvet Orchid is one of my favorite grown and sexy perfumes. Perfect for a night out, or anytime you want to wear a fragrance that feels sophisticated.
6) Her Blossom by Burberry
Her Blossom by Burberry is described as a fruity floral. While it’s definitely a floral scent, it’s also slightly sweet. I get a lot of compliments on this when I wear it. I’m usually not one for floral scents, as sometimes I feel like they’re not quite my vibe.
Because Her Blossom is a fruity floral, it has a hint of sweetness that I like which makes it feel youthful yet sophisticated. Her Blossom is also available as a rollerball, if you’d like to try it out but not commit to the price of a larger bottle.
