The Yves Saint Laurent Monogram Clutch has been on my luxury wishlist for a hot minute. I finally treated myself to not one YSL Monogram Clutch, but two during my recent birthday trip to Hawaii. This was mainly due to their Hawaii Pricing, which is essentially a Hawaii exclusive discount at designer stores. I’ll be discussing that more in an upcoming blog post.

Why It’s A Great Entry Level Bag
The YSL Monogram Clutch is a great first big girl bag because it’s on the more affordable side of Saint Laurent’s bags. What sold me on them is that they look very similar to some of the small bags (like the Envelope Small Bag); however, they’re not as expensive. You can literally buy 2 of the clutches, for less than the cost of one of the smaller bags.
The monogram clutch comes in many different colors, like hot pink and green. I opted to get a black and white one so that I could wear them with anything and everything.
I love the look and feel of these clutches. It was also time for me to start investing in great quality accessories that will last a long time. I’m getting my grown and sexy on for 30, and upgrading my wardrobe staples is a part of that. I’m starting to build a collection of smaller, affordable designer bags, and these clutches are excellent additions. YSL also has another similar monogram clutch style for $745, with a different embossed pattern.
The monogram clutch comes with a wrist strap, but there are kits you can purchase to convert them into crossbody bags. The clutch feels sturdy, and I can fit my essentials (wallet, phone, hand sanitizer, asthma inhaler, LOL). Regular price (in the US Mainlands), one of these clutches will run you $725 + Tax. In Hawaii (where their sales tax is currently 4%), I paid about $684 per clutch.
