Valentine’s Day Mirror Decorations

February is coming up, and since that’s also my birthday month I like to be extra festive. There are a lot of cute Valentine’s Day decorations out right now, and I wanted to do something fun with my Ikea Hovet Mirror (similar to how I decorated it for Christmas). I came up with the idea to decorate it with conversation hearts but make it fun and festive.

What I Used to Make My Custom Valentine’s Day Conversation Hearts

First, I made custom conversation hearts to stick around my mirror. I found foam hearts at Walmart in their Valentine’s Day section ($0.98 for a pack of 10, they come in pink and red) which worked perfectly. Two packages were enough for me (I made 20 conversation hearts) and I grabbed some red glitter alphabet stickers from Michael’s to add words to the hearts. In total, I used three packages of alphabet stickers.

What I Used to Decorate My Mirror for Valentines Day

Clear Command Hooks

I left my clear command hooks up from my Christmas decorations, and I used them to hang pink tulle around my mirror.

Pink Tulle

To make my Valentine’s Day decorations look fuller, I used 8 yards of pink tulle. Thankfully this is pretty cheap and affordable fabric. I got it on sale at Hobby Lobby for about $10 in total. I used clear hair elastics to bunch the fabric and attach it to the clear command hooks.

Pink and Red Glitter Hearts

I picked up a couple of packages of these glitter cut-out hearts from Dollar Tree for $1.25. They come in pink and red, and I used one package of each color. It looks like they only sell them in bulk online, but I show the individual packages in my TikTok below.

Double Stick Tape

I used double-stick tape to attach the hearts to my mirror. I was careful to stick the tape onto the mirror frame, and not the mirror itself.

Valentine’s Day Ribbon

Michael’s and Dollar Tree had the best Valentine’s Day ribbon selection of all the places I went. I got this pink ribbon with red and white hearts and tied it over the tulle to give my decorations a finished look. Michael’s always has coupons, so be sure to check before you checkout!
