I’m in my DIY fashion era, and a Cricut Maker 4 quickly made its way to the top of my wishlist. I finally got one, and I’m so excited to start bringing a lot of my DIY fashion ideas to life. Here’s everything I got so far for my Cricut Maker 4 to help me get started. Check out my TikTok below to see how I put together my setup and organized all my tools and vinyls.
I got the Cricut Maker 4 because it’s the big baddie machine that can do the most. It comes in a couple of colors. I got my Cricut Maker in Seashell, which is pink with rose gold accents. I got it on Amazon, in a bundle with vinyl and iron-on sheets.
Should You Buy A Cricut Maker Bundle?
If you’re getting a bundle that includes the heat press you want, that’s the only way I’d consider it. Essentially, I got the bundle I got so I could also get some supplies to start with. I’m not gonna hold you, I should have just gotten the machine solo. I caught a huge sale on Cricut vinyls and supplies at Michael’s Craft Store that same day, so honestly, I could have saved some money. I also found decent-priced vinyls at Hobby Lobby and Walmart.
What Can You Make With a Cricut Maker 4?

Simply put: just about anything your heart desires. Cricut calls the Maker 4 their ultimate smart cutting machine because it can precisely cut over 300 types of materials. It can do anything from making different-sized vinyls for your projects to engraving metal, cutting wood, and debossing leather.

I plan to use this machine to help me create DIY Fashion projects. Think DIY T-Shirts, custom rhinestone transfers for my outfits, etc. Secondly, I want to make vinyls for different DIY’s (like personalized holiday decor and gifts, stuff for parties and my press on nail classes). Thirdly, I want to make my own nail stickers and stencils for my press-on nails. So far, I’ve already made a decal for my iPad case and a custom Love Island-inspired tumbler.
Because I plan to make a lot of DIY fashion projects and decor using heat transfer vinyl (which is essentially iron-on material), I got the larger Cricut heat press, which is the 12X10 EasyPress SE.
My Cricut Tools Starter Kit
I picked up a few essentials to help me get started and protect my new Cricut Maker 4. For starters, I got a pink protective dust cover to help protect my machine. Additionally, I got a set of 5 cutting mats. Specifically, a set with 4 different grip mats. I also got a brayer and a set of standard tools (weeding tools, tweezers, etc.) that I’ll use a LOT. Also, learned it’s important to get something to support your cutting mats if you’re not using your Cricut on a table. So I grabbed this extension tray tool, and it’s been clutch on the projects I’ve made so far.
From My Vinyls Haul
So far, I’ve mainly bought heat-transfer vinyls and permanent adhesive vinyls. I got them from Michael’s Craft Store (Cricut Brand and Make Market), Hobby Lobby (Four Oh Five Brand), and Walmart. Don’t forget to pick up some transfer tape to help you lift and transfer your vinyl designs!
Permanent Vinyl: For My DIY Projects
I picked up different colors and finishes of permanent vinyls, which is what I used to make my iPad decal and custom Love Island Tumbler.
Heat Transfer Vinyls: For My DIY Fashion Projects
For my DIY fashion projects (and most likely anything else I plan to do on fabric), I got heat transfer vinyl. After I use my Cricut Maker to cut out my designs, I’ll use the heat press to adhere them to my shirts, bags, etc.
Safety First! For Working With Heat Transfer Vinyl
I got an EasyPress Mat to use under my heat press, and some protective teflon sheets to protect the machine when I’m transferring the designs. Also, I got heat-resistant gloves to protect my hands while I’m working with the heat press.
To Make Rhinestone Transfers for My DIY Fashion Projects
Y’all know we like to keep things real sparkly over here. So I got Rhinestone Flocking and Hotfix Tape on Amazon to help me create rhinestone transfers with my Cricut. Additionally, I got rhinestone brushes to help me easily get all the rhinestones in place (so I don’t have to set them one by one). Be sure to get heat-fix rhinestones like the pink SS10 ones I got, if you plan to adhere them using a heat press!
Cricut Maker Storage and Organization for Small Spaces
I have a very small space to work with. So I wanted to be able to contain my Cricut Maker 4, Cricut Easy Press 2 XE, and supplies (vinyls, cutting mats, tools, etc.) supplies to a small rolling cart. This way I can easily move everything around my space, especially when I want to film tutorials for y’all.
I got this small pink rolling cart on Amazon, and it was fairly easy to put together. I finished it during one episode of Real Housewives. Yes, it comes in other colors, but you know how we get down over here. It fits perfectly in my space, the drawers hold a good amount of supplies, and there’s room to store 24 vinyls underneath. I used the same clear drawer organizers I got for my Ikea Alex drawers to help organize my Cricut supplies.
There are also hooks on the end of each side, so I’m using those to store my cutting mats and heat mat. Also, the shelf in the middle is large enough to hold my heat press.
