This post is not sponsored, however, it does feature an item that was gifted to me from Miss Lola. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I was recently looking for some bomb black-owned fashion brands to shop with and decided to utilize my favorite resource: black twitter. During my search, I came across a tweet about a brand called Syxx Brand and immediately found an item I’ve been trying to get my hands on for a while now: The Venom Corset.
I actually remember it being sold by Pretty Little Thing (and seeing Molly Mae from Love Island rock it with a long white button-down) as their Black Textured Mesh Ribbon Back Corset around the holidays (Now sold out, but then retailing for $38 USD). However as the saying goes you snooze you lose, and I missed out on my chance to get it. So needless to say I was super excited to find the same exact corset on the SYXX Brand website, and I all too happily added it to my cart for $25 (At the time of my writing this post the corset is now retailing on their site for $38, and still well worth the money). If you check them out on Instagram, they have the coupon: SYXXSLAY in their bio to help save you some coin.
The corset is available in black and white, it laces up in the back, and fastens in the front (it also comes with a matching black thong as well, which wasn’t mentioned in the item description, so that was a surprise). Once again my measurements sort of teeter the line between medium and large, but I opted for the medium since I’m currently waist training. I’m glad I went with the medium, as it fits me comfortably and I had no issues.
I would like to add that I had reached out to the SYXX customer service when I realized I might have a sizing issue, and they were helpful and professional about helping me find a solution.
I wanted to put together a look that was fun, feminine, and a little sexy. I decided to wear the corset over a fitted white basic T from H&M (their smoothest and stretchiest basic T at that), and some fun ruffled short-shorts that I got from Zara last year.
For accessories, I grabbed my trusty strappy rhinestone evening sandals (old from Miss Lola), to go with the rhinestone clutch that they recently gifted me, and a rhinestone headband from H&M (no longer available, but here’s an $11 Amazon option for you sis).
