With the holidays rapidly approaching, I wanted to put together some gift guides to help you shop. Whether it’s a gift for someone special on your list, or for yourself (also someone special, no?) I’ll be dropping shopping guides for the haulidays.
Amazon Prime has always been clutch, even more so now that a lot of stores have delayed shipping (due to the pandemic). Sometimes when I’m shopping for stuff, Amazon winds up being the fastest and most reliable option for me to get it ASAP.
Amazon Gift Guide: Hair Products For Her
Hair supplies, a new wig, an iPad stand, whatever I need Amazon got me. Loyalty. UN. MATCHED. With a lot of hair salons being closed a lot of us have had to become kitchen beauticians. I’ve also noticed that the beauty supply stores have been out of stock of my essentials, so Amazon has continuously come to my rescue. If you’ve got a beauty queen on your gift list, that is serious about keeping her hair LAIDT at home here is my gift guide:
1) Bonnet Dryer Attachment
This is one of my favorite new at-home haircare tools. This is a soft bonnet attachment, that you can slip onto your blowdryer so you can use it as a hairdryer. It’s so bomb, and for $14.95 it’s a steal. It has a chin strap to help it stay on, and it’s perfect to use for deep conditioning or hot oil treatments. Be sure to use a plastic cap underneath. My hair felt so good after I used it on my wash day. I also plan to use it to help dry my wigs when I roller set them.
2) Silicon Mix Conditioner
Silicon Mix has long been hailed as the best conditioner to revive your wigs. Something about it just get’s your hair bouncing and behaving every time. Every time I stray away, I wind up coming right back to this to get my units to behave. Bundling this, with some other hair care products in a cute gift basket would be a great holiday gift idea!
3) Electric Hot Comb
Every wig wearer needs an electric hot comb, and that’s on periodt. It’s the best tool to use to get your wigs to lay flat and establish a smooth part. Gone are the days of having to heat it up on the stove, and try to bear the heat. I love this one that I purchased on Amazon for $20, but this pink rhinestone one by Kendra’s Boutique is fire too.
4) Texturizing Lotion
I love to rollerset my wigs. It allows me to cut down on heat styling, and create curls that last. It also gives my hair tons of body. This is my go-to setting lotion to use when I create a roller set.
5) Magnetic Rollers
Because how can you create a rollerset, without hair rollers? Bare in mind that the size of the roller will determine the size of the curl. Plan to buy at least 2-3 packages of each size to do all of her hair.
6) Hair Steamer
I saved the best for last. Using a hair steamer is amazing for your maintaining a moisture balance in your hair. I love using mine when I do a serious deep conditioning treatment. This would be a great gift idea for the natural hair care queen on your gift list. When I used to go to the Dominican hair salon, getting a steam treatment was expensive so I couldn’t get them done. Thankfully not only did I come up, but Amazon has hair steamers for like $70 (the cost of the treatment at the salon I used to go to).
Presentation Is Everything
If you decide to pick up some of these hair care products as a gift, think about bundling them in a cute gift basket! Creating a theme for the basket would be a really cute and personal touch. Maybe a new shampoo and conditioner, with the bonnet drying attachment. Or the rollers, texturizing lotion, and the soft bonnet attachment. Maybe even toss in a cute towel or robe. Get creative, and use this gift guide as inspiration.
