My friends at Novo Ovo gifted me their extra thick medium almond nails to try out. All thoughts and opinions are my own. With the holiday season about to kick into high gear, I’m having fun doing lots of Christmas nails. This time, I wanted to do a glam holiday almond nail set, and these extra thick nails by Novo Ovo on Amazon worked perfectly.

What I Used

Almond Nails

The extra thick nails by Novo Ovo come pre-etched, which I LOVE because the etching helps the nails stay on longer. Also, the nails come in a few different shapes. I previously tried their coffin-shaped nails (which stayed on for three weeks!) and love those too. I have wider nail beds, and it was easy to find nails that fit well.

Base Gel

After prepping the nails by wiping them down with rubbing alcohol, I applied one coat of Beetles base gel. I cured the base gel for about 99 seconds.

Gel Polish

I wanted to find a nice skin tone gel polish for this set, so I got “Sunset Suede #879” by DND Gel. I caught a Black Friday deal on TikTok shop, and DND Gel is currently running a 50% off sale for Black Friday 2024 on their website. Use Code: FROSTED to get the set of gel polish and regular nail lacquer for $6!

Sunset Suede is a sheer polish (as seen in my TikTok below), so I built up to three coats to get the payoff I wanted.

Rhinestones & Pearls

To put the “fabulous” in fabulous and festive, I added rhinestones and pearls to my nails. I have a few sets from Amazon (see above), and used tan pearls and red, dark green, and gold rhinestones. I applied them to my nails using Makarrt rhinestone glue, which I cured for 60 seconds under my nail lamp.

Christmas Nail Stickers

For my accent nails, I used some holiday nail stickers I got for less than $3 on SHEIN. They’re also available on Amazon if you want them ASAP. Check out my LTK to see some of the other holiday nail stickers I got in my haul.

Builder Gel & Top Coat

Lastly, I applied a coat of BTArtBox builder gel and top coat to my nails. I cured each coat for 60-99 seconds. After curing, I wiped them down with rubbing alcohol to remove the tacky inhibition layer.

Nail Glue

To apply my new holiday almond nails, I used my favorite nail glue from Sally Beauty. I’ve been using this “Drip and Clog Proof Nail Glue” by Beauty Secrets for months now, and I swear by it.
