I was invited to check out the Selene Newport Luxury Day Party in Newport, Rhode Island, over the weekend, and you know what that means. I needed the perfect resort-worthy, fly, fierce, and fabulous day party outfit. Selene’s day party is hosted at the Pineapple Club on Newport Harbour Island. So the vibes are very coastal, chic, and resort-like. Even though I’m a native Rhode Islander, I wouldn’t say my style is specifically coastal. So I opted to lean more into the resort-wear side of things for my day party outfit.
Thankfully, I had this strapless teal maxi dress on deck from Fashion Nova, and it was perfect for the vibe I was going for. I’m more of a dressy casual than casual casual girl, so I was one of the more dressed-up guests. Anyhoo, this Fashion Nova dress is called the “Riveria Heat Mesh Maxi Dress,” and I’m wearing it in a size small. It fits true to size, and sides of the top half of the dress has to be tied to stay in place; it’s semi-adjustable. I love the cutouts on the side, and the slit made it feel sexy. To prevent a wardrobe malfunction, I wore some nude bike shorts from Primark underneath.
I got my Tiffany blue Birkin-inspired jelly bag on TikTok Shop, and I love how well it matched my dress. The bag comes in a bunch of different colors, and I love that I can fit a ton of stuff in there. Here’s a similar version on Amazon as well. I finished off my look with my trusty SheIn wedges. They’re my go-to when I know I’ll be standing or dancing for a while. Even though the dress has a silver starfish, I opted for gold jewelry. Specifically, my favorite gold rhinestone bangles from Barzel Jewelry on Amazon.

Quick Makeup Details
When it comes to makeup, it’s usually full glam or bust. I did this purple eyeshadow look using the “If Looks Could Chill” and “World Full of Wonder” eyeshadow palettes by P. Louise in my crease. On my lid, I used the Danessa Myricks Colorfix Stix Duo Infinity (shade: daydreaming). I’m also wearing Lilly Lashes in “Mykonos“. For foundation, I used my go-to this summer, which is the MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NW47. My lip combo is the MAC X Quen Blackwell lip kit (Chestnut Lipliner, Yash Lipstick, and Frosting Lipglass Air).
