In the past I’ve done a round-up of my favorite jeans for big booty girls, the Jamie Jean tops them all. After hearing so many great things about them over the years, I had to try them for myself. Best. Denim. Investment. Ever.
The Jamie Jean: You Have Options
They come in a variety of colors and washes, and they have styles with distressing as well. The Jamie Jeans by TopShop are super stretchy skinny jeans (although they have a flare leg style too), with a high rise and the perfect amount of stretch. What I love most about them is that they don’t lose their stretch after wearing it throughout the day. Also, they also wash really well. They even have a Black Vinyl pair, that is currently in my cart. They actually remind me of the Shaping Collection Denim that I used to get at H&M. I’m talking about the super stretchy pairs they used to sell, which seem to be hard to come by now.
What Size Should You Get?
I love that they also come in a variety of length options. Whether you need a 28″ (Petite), 30″, 32″, 34″ (like ya girl), or 36″ (Tall), there’s a Jamie Jean for you. I wasn’t sure if I was going to need a 32″ or 34″ inch inseam, or what size to order at first. Typically I buy my jeans in a size 29, but the closest size options they offer are a 28 and a 30. Because I wasn’t sure what size to get, I ordered 4 sizes in the beginning. 28×32, 30×32, 28×34, and a 30×34. I did the hard work, so you don’t have to.
Because the jeans have so much stretch, I found that going down a size worked better for me. I also looked better in the 34″ inseams than the 32″ so I kept the 28×34 sizes. I also purchased a pair with a thigh cut out, and in those, I needed a 30×34. This is because: 1) It was the only size they had left that I could fit, and 2) I got thick thighs. My thigh was slightly poking through the hole in the 30×34 so I already know that a size down wouldn’t have been the move.
Overall for fit, I would say go down a size, unless it has a cut-out and you have thick thighs.
