If you’ve been keeping up with me on TikTok and Instagram, you know I went to Miami last month for Afro Nation Miami 2023. Baby, it was LIT. I attended both days of the festival and saw many of my favorite Afrobeats and Afrofusion artists perform, like Burna Boy, Asake, Fireboy DML, and Wizkid. I danced all night long. There were official afterparties that went down too, I attended the Jerk X Jollof After Party. I also did a lot of exploring in Miami. Check out my vlog below to see all my Miami adventures and my experience at Afro Nation.
3 THings You Should Bring To Afro Nation
I had a lot of fun at Afro Nation Miami, and quickly realized there were a couple of things I brought that made my festival experience even better:
- A portable rechargeable fan. The festival it outside, and it gets hot chile.
- A scarf, especially if you wear wigs. I tried a new adhesive on day one of the festival and my wig slid back ROFL. I should have stuck to my trusty TGI Bed Head Spray because when I used it on day two I was completely fine. Thankfully the scarfs went well with my outfits.
- A portable charger, specifically one that can charge your phone at least twice. You will want to take a lot of pictures and videos to capture your memories. The last thing you want is for your phone to die when your fave artist comes out, or it’s time to call the uber.
I saved my go-to portable fan and phone charger here on my Amazon Storefront.
Where I Shopped in Miami
Brickell City Centre had some great stores like Zara, and Sak’s Fifth Ave (where I did some luxury window shopping lol) along with a luxury movie theatre where I went to see The Little Mermaid. If you happen to stop by this shopping center, definitely check out Tacology for a bite to eat! The food was so good. I also did some shopping in the Miami Beach area in stores like Akira and Forever 21, and visited Wynwood Walls as well. There is a great shop in that area called Wynwood Soul where I got some great graphic T’s that I can’t wait to style.
Where To Stay In Miami
@flyfiercefab ROOM TOUR πβ¨ I stayed at the Fortune House Hotel in Miami recently, and my suite was so nice and spacaious ππΎπ©. The wi-fi was spotty, but other than that no complaints! #miami #miamihotel #wheretostayinmiami #travel #blackgirltiktok #traveltiktok β¬ Barbie World (with Aqua) [From Barbie The Album] [Extended]
I stayed at the Fortune House Hotel in Miami, and they nicely upgraded me from a standard suite to a luxury suite. I like to have a lot of space to move around when I travel, so I try to find larger rooms or suites. This hotel is basically all suites, and the rooms have full kitchens, living rooms, and washer dryer units. Cue me attempting to do the laundry again LOL (if you watched my Hawaii Vlog, then you already know how that goes).
I loved the suite I stayed in, my only complaint is that the wi-fi signal is not great at all. On the bright side, it is fairly close to the city and everything I had planned to do while I was in Miami.

My Favorite Afrobeats Playlist
I can’t end this blog post without sharing my go-to afrobeats playlist with y’all. Check it out here.
So that’s the rundown on my trip to Miami for Afro Nation Miami 2023. They seem to pull up to a lot of different locations, so if you ever get the chance to go I definitely recommend it.
Are you going to any concerts or festivals this summer? Who’s your fave Afrobeats artist? Let me know in. the comments!
