I recently got the new Huda Beauty Easy Blur Foundation from Sephora (Retail, $37), and was excited to try it out. The Sephora site matched me to shade 440G Cinnamon, so that’s what I used. I think it looks good in person and on camera, though this shade is a hair warm for me. I’ve seen some mixed reviews on the foundation, but wanted to see for myself.
Here are my overall thoughts on the foundation, and how it worked on my oily skin. Check out my tutorial below to see how I applied it!
First Impressions
The first thing I noticed is that the Huda Beauty Easy Blur Foundation feels super lightweight once applied. It’s a medium-coverage foundation, with a soft matte finish. So it’s giving skin like vibes, with a polished finish. I used my favorite makeup sponge (the Makeup by Ariel X Morphe beauty sponge) to apply this foundation.
Other reviews have mentioned that the undertones in the foundation were a bit off. I have a bit more of a neutral undertone, and Cinnamon is described as “tan skin with a golden undertone.”
FYI: Make sure your skin is hydrated
When I applied the foundation on areas of my skin that were drier, it looked patchy. So you want to make sure your skincare game is on point before you apply it.
Is it Good For Oily Skin?
My oils seemed to break through roughly six hours after applying this foundation. I could have easily powdered my makeup around my nose to absorb the oil, and looked fine. This is something I also heard from others who tried this foundation.
So as an oily girl, this isn’t a foundation I’d reach for on a hot summer day. This is a foundation I’d use when I know I’ll be wearing my makeup for a little while, in somewhat normal weather. If I’m looking to wear my makeup on like a 12 hour day, I’d probably reach for something else.
What Primers Did I Use?
While Huda Beauty also dropped an Easy Blur primer, I did not wind up purchasing it. I used my go-to primers. The One/Size Oil Sucker Primer in my oily areas (forhead and nose), and the Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Primer everywhere else.
