Cécred Just Dropped At Ulta, Here’s what’s Worth Your Coins

I’ve been using Cécred hair products (Béyonce’s hair care line) for the last couple of months, as I’ve heard great reviews and wanted to see if they were worth the hype. I picked up travel-sized versions of the shampoos, conditioners, and reconstructor treatment mask. Also, I purchased the full-sized version of the nourishing hair oil and the restoring hair and edge drops (twice!).

I got travel-sized versions of the wash day products, so I could see what was worth a full-sized investment when Cécred dropped at Ulta today. You can also purchase Cécred products from their official online store. Check out my Cécred big three at the end of my post.
About My Hair:
I started using the Cécred shampoos and conditioners while I had a sew-in, to care for my leave out and hair underneath. Check out this tutorial on my at-home sew-in maintenance day to see how I used them.
@flyfiercefab I’ve been using @CÉCRED for a few washes now… and I think I finally have my verdict! 👀 Let’s check in while I do a curly ponytail protective style. What I Noticed After Using Cécred
I took my sew-in out last week (I had it in for 2 months) to do another protective style in between installs, and I was SO impressed with how much better my hair underneath felt. It felt stronger, softer, and I could see a visible improvement in the health of my hair.
For reference, I have Type 4A/4B natural hair (I’m working on heat training whilst recovering from hair loss).
The Tea: What’s Worth It?!
Shampoos
Clarifying Shampoo & Scalp Scrub

I always start by using the clarifying shampoo & scalp scrub. With ingredients like tea tree, lemon, and peppermint, it helps to break down the product sitting on my hair, and get it clean without stripping it. I was impressed with how soft my hair felt after using this shampoo, which I feel like isn’t the case with some other clarifying shampoos I’ve tried.
When I have a sew in, I concentrate the shampoo on my leave-out and use something else on my braids. This is because I use a protective net under my sew ins, which makes it harder to get in there and scrub lol. I used this when I took my sew in down, and it left my hair and scalp feeling so clean, soft, and refreshed. While this is a good shampoo, it’s not in my Cécred big 3.
Hydrating Shampoo: A Must Try

After clarifying shampoo and scalp scrub, I follow up with the hydrating shampoo to help further cleanse my hair and restore moisture. This is one of my FAVORITE Cécred hair products, and I highly recommend trying this shampoo. It lathers really well, and leaves my hair feeling so clean and soft. After washing this out, my hair feels like I already used conditioner! I definitely need the full sized version of this shampoo.
I used this throughout my hair and extensions when I had my sew in, and also on my takedown day.
Conditioners
Hyrdating Conditioner

For conditioner, I mainly used the Cécred hydrating conditioner on all my hair (leave out, under my sew in, and on my extensions). Per the instructions, I left it on my hair for one minute before rinsing it out. This is great for quick wash days, where you need to maintain hydration but don’t have time to deep condition.
I love how soft it left my hair, and I noticed my natural hair felt softer and stronger when I took out my sew in and did a silk press. Since this was one of the main products I used to wash my hair under my sew in, I want to keep it in my rotation. I plan to get the full-sized version of this for my quick wash days.
Moisturizing Deep Conditioner

I’ve tried the Moisturizing Deep Conditioner twice. Once when I still had my sew in, and then again on my natural hair when I took out my sew in. My favorite way to use it is to mix it with a little bit of the Nourishing Hair Oil and sit under my hair steamer. I like how soft and hydrated my hair feels after using the deep conditioner, so I’ll be getting a full-sized version of this, too.
Reconstructing Treatment Mask

The Reconstructing Treatment Mask is the product I was most eager to try, as in interviews, Ms. Tina has said this is one of the products she’s most proud of. I tried it when I took out my sew in, and used it with a conditioning cap (for heat) for 20 minutes per the instructions on the packaging.
When I did my blow out, I noticed that my hair felt noticeably stronger than it had in the past few months. This product is going to be a staple in my hair care routine, so I’m going to need a full-sized version of this too LOL.
Restoring Hair and Edge Drops

I’ve been using the Restoring Hair & Edge Drops on and off since December. Did I notice some hair growth? Yes. Bear in mind that I’m also recovering from hair loss due to anemia and vitamin deficiencies (which I’m currently addressing). This is a water-based product, so once I have my sew-in installed, I only use this on the week I’m washing my hair because it makes my leave out revert.
Nourishing Hair Oil

Ok, so we listen and we don’t judge right? The Nourishing Hair Oil was the only product I put on my hair under my sew in in-between wash days. BUT, like I said, my hair felt soft and smooth, and I noticed an improvement in my overall health of my hair so I know this had something to do with it LOL. I put this on my scalp like twice a week when I had my sew in. I also lightly used it on my hair and extensions to try and avoid weighing my extensions down.
The nourishing hair oil is a blend of 13 different oils, including sunflower seed, moringa, baobab, and sea buckthorn.
