Y’all know I love a good sew-in as my protective style of choice. This time, I got the 9×6 M-Cap Butterfly Cut HD Lace Wig from ISee Hair and had it installed behind my hairline. It’s the same hair texture and style as the V-part wig I previously got from ISee Hair (which I LOVE). However, this time I wanted to put more of my hair away, so I got it as a lace closure wig.

Girl, this wig is checking all my boxes. It comes pre-cut, knots bleached, with layers, etc. Also, since it’s a lace wig, I have minimal hair left out around my perimeter. I have 4B/4A natural hair, and this yaki texture of hair blends really well with my straightened natural hair (which is why I’ve bought this texture from them twice).

Wig Details: All The Work Has Been Done for you

I ordered this 24″ 9×6 HD lace wig from ISee Hair. It comes with the lace pre-cut and the knots pre-bleached, so you don’t have to do much to the lace. When my stylist did my hair, she just put some makeup in the part. The wig has a 250% density and comes pre-layered, so it has lots of movement and body. My stylist added some light face-framing layers, but we didn’t cut much at all.

The wig also comes with combs and adjustable bands to ensure the perfect fit. So basically, if you wanted to install it yourself at home, you could do it fairly easily.

How Long Have I Worn This Wig?

I’ve had this wig installed behind my hairline twice, and wore it for three weeks each time.

Is It Big Head Friendly?

With a good braid down, yes! I’m pretty sure my head has a 23″ circumference, and when my stylist braided down my hair, the wig fit perfectly. When I braided my hair down myself (mind you, I don’t braid that flat LOL), it felt too snug.

Does It Mat, Tangle, or Shed?

My only complaint about the wigs from ISee Hair is that they do shed. Not enough to make me stop buying them, but it’s definitely noticeable. I’d call it medium shedding, as I get some every time I brush it (mind you, I use an UnBrush). I also noticed a lot of shedding when I washed this unit, though in hindsight I maybe should have waited until it dried to brush it out again (I used my UnBrush to help work my conditioner through the hair when I washed it).

I don’t really get matting or tangling, unless I have my hair tucked up under my winter coat. Or, if I don’t detangle my hair before putting it in a claw clip.

Does It Hold a Curl?

I flexirod my hair to maintain my curls, and they do hold for most of the day.

Details on my Behind The Hairline Install

I had my HD lace wig installed behind my hairline and sewn down. So this means that my stylist braided my hair down, and left out minimal hair around my perimeter to cover the unit. The wig is mainly sewn down on my sides, and she used the adjustable drawstring in the back. I really like the look of this behind-the-hairline install, and how much faster and easier it is to have the wig sewn on than to sit for a traditional sew-in with bundles.

To blend the lace, she sprayed something on the part where the lace meets my scalp (to melt it) and then put some makeup in the part of the lace. When I need a refresh, my stylist removes the unit, washes my braids and the wig, and sews my wig back on.

How I Maintain My Hair

To wrap my hair at night, I first wrap my edges with a satin edge scarf. Next, I roll my hair with five 1″ flexirods (as seen in my TikTok below, when I was styling my ISeeHair V-Part install), and put a satin bonnet on top. You can grab all these things on Amazon.
