Summer is almost officially over, so I had to squeeze in one more set of summer nails before we wrap up. I decided to recreate a version of a set I’ve seen many times on Pinterest. Think bright summer colors, tiger print, and exotic flower nail art. Also, since I’ve been going to a lot of events this summer, I wanted glow in the dark nails too. I put it all together and made this set of matching press on nails and toenails. They’ve been getting so many compliments!
Check out my TikTok below to see how I made these press on nails!
The Nails I Used
To make this matching mani-pedi set, I used bright french tip nails by two different brands. On my hands, I used the Long Square Brighter French Tip Nails by BTArtBox. On my toes, I used these brown base colorful french tip toenails by Aillsa on Amazon. I’m not a huge fan of the fit of the Aillsa toenails (because they’re kinda stiff and don’t lay as flush against my toenails), but we’ll see what they give over time.
I used a different color nail on each finger, and matched each finger to my toenails.
How I Did The Tiger Print Nail Art
For the tiger print nail art, I used this set of bright neon gel polishes by Beetles. My go-to nail art brushes are these liner brushes from SheIn. Once the tiger print nail art was done and cured, I applied a mix of these exotic flower nail stickers from Amazon. I added rhinestones to the center of the flowers using builder gel (my trick is to apply a coat of builder gel and use that to cure my rhinestones and nail charms into place).
How I Made My Nails Glow In The Dark
Originally, I wasn’t planning to have my nails glow so I used my regular go-to top coat by Gaoy. Then, I realized glow in the dark nails would be perfect for the bingo/neon Bingo Loco event I was going to. So, I hopped on Amazon to find a glow in the dark top coat. I chose this one by Lavender Violets, simply because it was the one that would get to me the fastest.
To use it, you apply 1-2 coats and cure each coat for around 60 seconds. The top coat has a clear yet milky finish, but under natural light my nails still look the same as before I applied it (as you see in my tutorial below). In the dark, my nails glow green. I do notice that some times the glow fades, so exposing them to a light source (flashlight, etc.) helps essentially “recharge” the nails so they glow again in the dark.
