It’s 2026, and if your full glam makeup ain’t glamming, I got you. Here’s how I do my foundation routine, and make it last all day on my oily skin. I also tried some new products and tips last year that really leveled up my makeup game. Check out my TikTok tutorial below to see how I do my full glam foundation routine. Let’s ge into it!
Yes, You Need Primer.
I use two primers in my foundation routine. This is because I have oily skin, and I want my makeup to last alllllll day. So I use a mattifying primer (One/Size Oil Sucker Extreme Mattifying Primer) on my oily areas, and then a hydrating primer (Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Primer) everywhere else. This helps me stay matte in the areas where I’d get shiny, but also hydrate my skin so my makeup grips to it.
Color Corrector
I color correct to help get rid of darkness under my eyes and above my lip. My go-to for this has been the Live Tinted Huestick in the shade “Balance”.
My Go-To Matte Foundation
Because I have oily skin, I like to stick to matte foundations. If I want a more “radiant” look, I’ll mix a matte foundation with a satin or natural finish foundation. While I have a few foundation combinations that I like, if I’m just wearing ONE, my top choice is the NARS Soft Matte Complete Foundation. It lasts all day on my oily skin, it’s full coverage, and looks great in pictures and videos. I like to apply it with these Paw Paw Makeup Sponges from Amazon.
Macao is the best shade match for me, but the undertone is a little too warm. On its own, it makes me look orange in flash photos. So I mix it either with the shade Marquises (my preference) or a blue color corrector to neutralize the warmth. Check out the tutorial on how I do that here.
NARS, if you’re reading this, please give us a neutral shade between Macao and Marquises!
My New Fave Concealer Combo
For concealer, I like to use both the Tower 28 Swipe Serum Concealer (in shade 16 SB, a great neutral shade. This was previously gifted by the brand) and the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer (in Shade 38N). I don’t know why I didn’t realize I needed to switch to neutral undertone concealers until last year, but it’s definitely improved the overall look of my makeup.
Contour
To help warm up my skin and contour, I like to use a cream stick product. My current favorite is the Black Opal Foundation Stick (in the shade Suede Mocha), which is super affordable.
Loose Setting Powder
I use a loose setting powder to set all of the areas where I used concealer (which are my “highlighted” areas). I picked up the One/Size Ultimate Blurring Powder during the Sephora sale last year, and I haven’t put it down since. For this look, I used the shade Ultra Pink (I also love the shade Ultra Peach).
Blushes: Two Is Better Than One
To get my desired blush look, I use a liquid blush and a powder blush. I use the liquid blush after I do my concealer and contour (you always want to use the liquid/cream products together, before using the powder products). In my opinion, elf makes some of the best liquid blushes. They’re super affordable, pigmented, and come in a bunch of colors. I used my favorite shade “Pinky Promise” for this look.
After I use loose setting powder, face powder, and bronzer, I add powder blush. I used the Toni Bravo X Tower 28 Blush (previously gifted) in the shade “Sunset Shirley” for this look.
Face Powder
Using a skintone face powder helps bring back the overall skintone color to your makeup (gets rid of the excess loose powder, etc) and set your face. I’ve been loving the One/Size Bouclé Silk Powder (I use shade Deepest) for this.
Need More Oil Control? Try This
To help with oil control, my very last step in my makeup routine is always to use this Blot Powder by MAC (shade Deepest Dark). It doesn’t add a lot of pigment, but it’s great with helping to control oil in the areas where you’d get shiny.
Bronzer
I use powder bronzer in all the areas where I used the Black Opal Foundation Stick to contour. So along my forehead, jawline, and on my cheekbones. This also helps warm up my skin and add dimension. To do this, I use the Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk’R Bronzer in Coco Naughty.
Highlight
For highlight, I used the Haus Labs Bio-Radiant Glassy Highlighter Balm in the shade Glassy Topaz. I wanted something that would add shine, but not compete too much with my blush.
Setting Sprays: Lock In Sis.
During the course of applying the powder products, I like to use the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Spray to help melt the powders. To actually set and lock my makeup into place, I use the One/Size On Til Dawn Setting Spray.
