How To Dye A Faux Fur Coat: My Pink Birthday Outfit

I recently turned Thirty Won, and I had a very specific look in mind to celebrate my birthday. I got a short pink beaded dress and envisioned it with a long pink faux fur coat (a nod to a look worn by Flo Milli).

My faux fur collection is extensive, but I couldn’t find anything in the color I wanted. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and dye my long white faux fur coat baby pink.

What I Used To Dye My Faux Fur Coat

Due to the material used to make faux fur coats, you have to use a dye for synthetic fabrics. I used the color “Super Pink” from the Rit DyeMore collection.

I tested different concentrations of the dye on old faux fur scraps to figure out how much I needed to use for my ideal color. I’m glad I tested it first because I didn’t need to use a lot. Check out my TikTok to see how I dyed it.

My Pink Birthday Dinner Outfit

I set a pink dress code for my birthday dinner, so of course, I wore head-to-toe pink. I styled my new pink faux fur coat with a short beaded blush pink dress from Oh Polly. For shoes, I wore my rose gold rhinestone platform evening sandals from Fashion Nova (that I wore to NYFW), my pink Coach Heart Bag, and $15 pink sunglasses from Amazon.
